Our Vineyard

Aorangi Road Vineyard is one of the highest Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in Hawkes Bay, one of the Great Wine Capitals of the world and one of New Zealand’s premier wine regions, renowned for its sunny clear skies and long growing season.

Aorangi Road is inland nearer the mountains sitting high above the Ngaruroro River, where the vineyard’s north-facing slopes enjoy the cool katabatic air flow from the mountains followed by long, hot summer days. It is the perfect place for the Sauvignon Blanc grapes we produce with abundant sunshine, cool evening temperatures, and free-draining soils—conditions that consistently produce vibrant, elegant wines with exceptional balance.

Pete and Jude Lawson and family have owned and worked this land since 1997 and the Aorangi Road Vineyard now showcases the finest expressions of Sauvignon Blanc, combining traditional and sustainable vineyard care with modern winemaking creating premium wines that reflect the unique character of the ancient alluvial soils that have nurtured our vines.

Beyond our own vineyard, we collaborate with trusted growers in Gisborne, East Coast, Hawke’s Bay, and Central Otago, allowing us to offer a diverse portfolio of New Zealand's most celebrated varietals.
